Singing by Tony Backhouse
Tony works with the passionate and exciting African-American repertoire, focusing on spirituals, gospel songs old and new, choral and quartet styles, and embracing South African church songs, and maybe even some doo-wop, or R&B. Tony creates a supportive and safe environment to explore the voice and how we work together to raise the roof. Tony’s workshops are for the beginner and the experienced singer.

Non-toxic Printmaking
Kathy Boyle
This course covers aluminium etching with copper sulphate and a range of methods for working in a non-toxic manner.
In this workshop the students are exploring the versatile, lower toxic process of etching aluminium metal plates with a copper sulphate /salt mordant. This is an accessible alternative to the more traditional etching processes.
Colour pencil and graphite workshop
Janet Matthews
Janet teaches with a step by step demonstration and then individual tuition.
Her workshops are suitable for all skill levels, from beginners to advanced.

Mixed Media: Print/Paint/Collage
Lynn Taylor
This mixed media class encourages participants to experiment and explore possibilities, by breaking boundaries between different types of wet and dry materials including paint, ink, cyanotype (light sensitive), pencils and digital image reproduction.
Many processes are explored with a bias towards printmaking and paper, MDF board and fabric are all used supports. Other textural and tactile processes may come into play, such, stitching, piercing, weaving etc.

Phil has returned for the 2024 school to present a week of new ideas and skills for those who join him. He brings fresh ideas and approaches to making bound books.
Indigo – The Fermentation Vat and Beyond

Indigo is one of the world’s oldest natural dyes. This unique workshop takes the mystique out of working with indigo. We will see how vat dyeing is just one way of using indigo as we explore a range of techniques with which you can create your individual designs on various surfaces.
