Recently we were delighted to support the below colourful event:
Hola, Kia Ora, Hello!
The Mexican Community of Wānaka was thrilled to host a vibrant celebration of Día de los Muertos at Paetara Aspiring Central (formerly the Mitre 10 building). This lively, all-ages event offered the community a unique opportunity to experience Mexico’s rich cultural traditions and was filled with a spirit of remembrance and joy.
Many attendees brought photos of their loved ones to add to the altars, creating a heartfelt atmosphere as we collectively remembered and celebrated those no longer with us. It was a meaningful and memorable occasion, where the community came together to share in the beauty of Día de los Muertos.
Guests enjoyed delicious, authentic Mexican food and admired the colorful altars created to honor loved ones who have passed. There were engaging activities for all, including workshops, arts and crafts, and lively music, which kept families entertained and immersed in the celebration.
