Mexican Community Grant

From the organisers:

The grant was instrumental in bringing the Día de los Muertos celebration back for the third time and in helping us share elements of our traditions—such as dance, music, and art. Each year, people from different cultures and members of the Upper Clutha community join us, not only to enjoy the workshops but also to become involved in the organisation.

For us, it is truly meaningful to see people arrive with photos of their loved ones, asking for a place to display them and remember them. On several occasions, I have had the opportunity to meet individuals who attended the festival and found it to be a healing experience as they navigated the loss of someone important to them. Many have shared how valuable it is to have spaces and events where they can connect with new people and different cultures.
